When the age thing bites you in the ass
Today I was poked, prodded, stuck and squished.
I had to go back for a second series of mammograms on my right breast. Then my doctor told me the results of my bone density test: not so hot. I have osteoporosis in my back and osteopenia in my hip. It is possible that my eating habits over the years are to blame, but there are other, not so wonderful, possible explanations for fragile bones at a relatively young age. So, 6 different blood tests were ordered; one of which is to rule out melanoma. Let me be perfectly clear here: I realize that it is extremely unlikely that I have cancer, but to have to undergo two tests in one day to rule out cancer was the tiniest bit disturbing.
To top it all off, I have been having pain in my left hip, which, after the bone density thing, suddenly turned into cancer in my hip. Not that my doctor ever suggested such a thing, but if there is anything I am blessed with, it is a fertile imagination. So, off to the xray technician to take pictures of my hip (and my back while I was at it, you know, to get a baseline on those fragile bones). And the stupid positions they put you into just make the damn hip hurt more.
Anyway, I have to take some pill once a week now to try and make my bones stronger. I hurt pretty much all over, from right tit to left hip. And I feel old.

Ack. Hugs, hugs, good thoughts, and more hugs.
Chicken noodle soup won't make you feel better in this situation, but it sure tastes good. I have a batch of homemade in my freezer if you think it could survive the trip up north.
*hugs*
Well, here's hoping for the very best of news from your tests. In the meantime, I hope you feel better soon. {{hugs}}
Well, I have crazy hip pain (even before pregnancy) that is not at all cancer related. So I'm going to believe that it is the same for you too.
Or maybe you're pregnant! (er, that isn't helpful... is it...)
I have some lovely chewable calcium magnesium pills that I really like. Well, I like them more than the horse pills that I can't swallow.
*hugs*
We recommend dark chocolate caaaandy--high in all sorts of good-for-you stuff. Also yummy.
We'll be sending our positive thoughts.
Many hugs and Bears hugs,
Jim and all the Bears
I don't know what to say, so I'm offering some lame hugs instead. I hope everything turns out to be of the non-worrying variety. {{hug}}
I hope everything turns out OK. *hugs*

I hope your test results come out fine.

I can relate to the worrying. I am sure it's not cancer, but worrying is scary, and I hope you can have your worries soothed soon by the doctors.
Lots of calcium to the rescue?
